Orphaned Oak
Oak bench
This is a sturdy little bench for sitting at one of my long tables. First find a suitable donor orphaned table, and fully dismantle it...
I cut a long rectangle out of the nicest-looking part of the tabletop, and fitted runners underneath.
Shaped and cleaned up some sturdy leg sections, with a long pegged bracing strut between them.
Cut out and fit two strong brackets to hold the legs firmly in place
Fully waxed and finished, ready for use. The waxing brings out the beautiful grain pattern, so long hidden under layers of brown varnish.
Looking quite at home outdoors, or in the house.
