Orphaned Oak
Pair of Medium Boxes
Two medium-sized boxes (that's a two-foot wooden ruler on the table in front of them).

The first was made from a lucky find - I inherited a couple of wooden pallets, which turned out to be made of solid oak slats. What a waste of fine timber, but my good fortune.

The second was made from pieces of an old corner cupboard - the shelves had an interesting scalloped front edge, which I incorporated into the end panels, and drilled holes to be used either as finger carry-holes, or a rope loop could be threaded.

The cupboard had a glass-fronted door in the top half. I rescued these unusual hinges from it, to be used for the lid.
